Advisory Council Formation and Purpose:
Guiding Our School’s Vision

The Superintendent and the Board appoint the school’s principal, who forms an Advisory Council to provide support and advice. While the principal consults the council, all final decisions are made by the principal. As a result, OCSCS will not have a traditional school site council; instead, the Advisory Council will oversee tasks such as setting annual goals, gathering feedback, and engaging stakeholders.

The Advisory Council consists of parents, community members, and professionals with expertise in fields like engineering, medical sciences, youth development, management, and computer science. Selected teachers and classified employee representatives also serve on the council. The council reviews school plans and performance to ensure alignment with the school’s vision and mission. The decision-making process is collaborative and inclusive.
