Message to our Community from 11/15/2024

We're bursting with pride over all we've accomplished together, and now we have a fantastic opportunity to expand even more possibilities for our OCSCS learners! 🌟

Tonight, when the PYLUSD Board Agendas go live, you'll see that a public hearing is set for Tuesday, November 19, 2024. This hearing is for the Board of Education to review some exciting revisions we're proposing to our charter petition. 🚀

What's New?

We've got 3 BIG opportunities lined up:

  1. Local Funding 💰 – All local funding distributed to PYLUSD will be allocated to OCSCS, allowing us to invest directly in our amazing students.

  2. Our Own Governance 🏫 – Establishing our very own governing board, giving OCSCS the chance to shape our future with even more autonomy.

  3. Expanded Independent Study 📚 – We’re growing our independent study pathways, including (but not limited to) oversight of the USI program, bringing even more flexibility for our learners! This also gives access to our students to utilize the USI facilities, as it would become a core part of our overall OCSCS program model.

Rest assured, we remain proudly part of the PYLUSD family as a PYLUSD school and as a California public school. 💙💛

Thank you for being part of this journey—we're excited for what’s ahead! 🚀✨
